Dear Flipside,
I would like to give my opinion on unity and how it could be accomplished. I think we need to be open minded and accept the beliefs of others in the scene. Everyone of us is different and have different ideas. Accepting them is the hard part. If everyone keeps rejecting and fighting each other because they don't have the same ideas or don't like the same bands then nothing will be accomplished. Unity means accepting others ideas and respecting them for standing up for what they believe in. So if everyone in the scene unites and accepts each other's beliefs there will be a lot less inner conflicts. So remember : Unity is acceptance.
