Cafe Detox: The show was founded in 1996 during the Radio Free Bakersfield Pirate radio days and has always been a Sunday afternoon show. Cafe Detox gave me the chance to explore many sides of music while distancing myself from the regular punk rock offerings on the station at that time. Mixing pop, drum & bass, electronic and obscure 80's songs into one big three hour show.
Many times the show has been performed in a "Hungover state of mind", which is probably similar to the state of mind of most of the fans who follow this show. You might hear Roni Size right after the Ramones or Portishead after the Pixies. The Baby Namboos after Babyland or Photek after Primus.
From peaceful to moody. dark to upbeat, your emotions will scatter.
For some reason I think it all works reasonably well.
Mobilehome Living magazine once labeled the show:
"A surreal dream that makes you want to stay in bed until the end. Swirling beats and delicious treats. So go inside and take a seat!"

Top 10 Show: This show was created in 1997 basically as an outlet to say thanks to the many record companies who have contributed various donations and support to the station. some of the songs featured on this show will eventually go on to bigger things, although many more linger in obscurity because regular FM radio sucks shit.
The format changes weekly as I pick what I consider to be the best (or most obscure songs for each week's show. Challenge yourself to listen and find out what so many others have already discovered. None of the songs are ever censored because censorship is a non existant word at Destroy Radio
You will also be treated to interesting news stories & a DJ who loves to drink beer

The More Punk Series: The More Punk Series has been around since the beginning. This show is why I became involved in the Pirate Radio world in the first place. Punk Rock music has been my savior in life. I am and always will be a punk inside. All
these different sounds come an go ie: Speed Metal, Grunge, Disco......, but Punk Rock is and always will be there lurking around some strange corner. Traditional radio would never attempt to play Punk Rock due to the offensive, sometimes violent and aggressive sounds and lyrics. But the thing that appeals to me is that Punk Rock is honest. Fuck Censorship!
New bands, Old School and anything in between will be played on this show.
Bands most like heard on this show: Anything Punk or making a decent attempt.

The FLUF Show: This is the time before the Top 10 show
where I can prep the listeners and hopefully keep from driving them away. The show is named after both the band that I have a ton of respect for, as well as the porn industry's meaning. You will not hear Freebird from Lynard Skynard on this show or Molly Hatchet's version of Flirtin with Disaster. But you may hear something new from Electronic, Grooverider or the Causey Way. Or something nostalgic from the likes of the Cure or Love & Rockets. As technology advances, I hope this show will become a party favorite for Friday nights all over the world. Now I need your help to spread the word!
