Band: Gasolheads Release: Sixty Seconds Swingers Label: Lollipop Records |
After listening to this CD a few times, I began to feel shame for the American bands
who try so hard to achieve this sound. I came across this band while digging around the Internet. As soon as the site began to load , I sensed something HUGE was brewing. From Marsailles, France. The call it "Motor Punk". I call it "A Fucking Explosion of Rock & Roll and Punk that would put Timothy McVeigh's bomb to shame" Everything comes at you like a blow torch in a little over 20 minutes. Any longer and the neighbors would have to call 911. 11 songs with names like "Generation Not Mine", "Riot on Monday" & "Saturday Night Attack". Nothing sucks on this one! The "Saints" and "Johnny Moped" get the cover treatment as well. Recently I ran into a longtime friend who told me that he didn't listen to much new music anymore because he felt like everything had been done already. When I saw him a few weeks later I asked him over to my car to take a listen to the Gasolheads. After just one song he had this confused look on his face. I asked him what was up and he said "this is the best shit I have ever heard in my life". He wanted more, but I only had one other song with me at the time. He now has a copy of the CD and his faith in new music has been restored. Ahhhhh, now wasn't that just a wonderful heart warming story? Now go challenge yourself and see if the Gasolheads can restore your faith in the future of Punk Rock n Roll. Easily one of my Top 5 favorites of the year. Deejay O.S. |
